Kelvin Joseph Arrested on Felony Charges

Former Dallas Cowboys cornerback Kelvin Joseph was arrested on Saturday morning and is facing felony charges in Texas, according to arrest records.

Charges

Joseph, 25, has been charged with:

  • Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) – a misdemeanor
  • Collision Involving Personal Injury or Death – a felony

The Richardson Police Department received a call from Joseph at 5:39 AM local time, during which he admitted to his involvement in the accident.

Incident Details

  • Joseph’s BMW allegedly collided with another vehicle driven by an unidentified driver.
  • This driver then crashed into a motorcycle, resulting in the death of a woman due to her injuries from the crash.
  • Authorities reported observing signs of intoxication during their encounter with Joseph.

Previous Incidents

This is not Joseph’s first encounter with law enforcement. Last year, he was a passenger with suspected gunman Zamarion Ingram, who opened fire outside a South Side nightclub shortly after.

Cowboys’ Response

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones commented on the situation, stating:

“We obviously don’t need our players getting mixed up like this again. Let me tell you something about what happened today – it wasn’t pretty out there yesterday afternoon either… because one thing I can assure everyone reading these words right now will happen tomorrow too: There WILL BE ANOTHER GAME PLAYED BY THE DALLAS COWBOYS AND IT WON’T INVOLVE ANYONE NAMED KELVIN JOSEPH!!”

Performance and Consequences

Despite his contributions to the Cowboys last season, where he helped the team win the NFC East title without quarterback Dak Prescott, Joseph has been released by the team following this latest incident involving law enforcement and allegations of DWI and causing a fatal car crash.
