Layne Riggs’ impressive second-place finish at the Kansas Speedway on Saturday was short-lived. The NASCAR Truck driver’s No. 34 Front Row Motorsports truck failed post-race inspection, resulting in his disqualification from the event.
Race Highlights
- Riggs showcased a strong performance, charging through the field to match his best result of the year.
- He made contact with Carson Hocevar on the final lap while battling for first place, but Hocevar managed to secure victory.
Inspection Results
According to NASCAR officials, Riggs’ truck did not meet standards outlined in rule 14.4.9.A.3 regarding bed cover material. A NASCAR spokesperson explained:
"The bed cover material must be strong enough to prevent deflection or sagging and must be sealed around all bed panels while competing."
In contrast, Hocevar’s truck passed post-race checks without issue. As a result of failing inspection, Riggs lost nearly all of his points from Saturday’s event and dropped two spots in the regular season standings. Riggs will look to bounce back from this setback in future events as he continues his bid for success in the NASCAR Truck series.
