Hilary Knight Prepares for Final Olympics

Hilary Knight, the face of U.S. women’s hockey, is gearing up to make her fifth and final Olympics at the 2026 Milan Winter Games. The 36-year-old athlete has announced her plans to retire from international competition after two decades with the national team.

"It’s time" for me to retire, Knight told USA Today. She made her debut in the 2006 Four Nations Cup tournament as a 17-year-old and has since become one of her sport’s most decorated and dominant players.

While not yet officially retired from professional play, Knight played for the Boston Fleet in the PWHL league this past season. She finished tied atop the scoring charts with teammate Abby Roque and forward Taylor Heise from the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs.

  • Team Success: She helped guide the Fleet to first place overall before they finished as second-place finishers behind the Toronto Six.

The six-team privately funded league surpassed one million attendees this past season and announced that expansion teams will join next year’s campaign, starting with a Seattle-based squad followed shortly by a Vancouver-based club.
