A 16-year-old from Toronto has been charged in connection with a robbery at a Grimsby jewellery store.
Incident Details
- Date of Incident: January 18
- Method: Six suspects allegedly smashed the front door with small sledgehammers and broke several display cases.
- Stolen Goods: An unknown amount of jewellery was taken.
- Escape Route: The suspects fled in a vehicle towards Mountain Street.
- Store Status: The store was open at the time of the robbery, but fortunately, there were no physical injuries reported.
Investigation Progress
- Several days after the theft, investigators recovered the suspect vehicle, which had been abandoned in Hamilton.
- Detectives have arrested one suspect, a 16-year-old male from Toronto.

The youth faces the following charges:
- Robbery
- Disguise with intent
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
Due to their age, under Ontario’s Youth Criminal Justice Act, the suspect cannot be identified.
