Chase Sexton Suffers Setback at Fox Raceway Nationals

Defending Pro Motocross champion Chase Sexton’s bid for a repeat title took a hit on Saturday when he crashed midway through the first moto of the 2025 Fox Raceway Nationals, injuring his shoulder in the process. This mishap forced him to withdraw from further competition in Moto 1.

Sexton entered this round with high expectations, having won last year’s championship. His performance was cut short when he was struck by a rock that damaged his goggles during the opening laps. For safety reasons, he discarded his goggles and continued riding without eye protection for the remainder of those laps.

"We’re going to have to regroup and reassess," said Sexton after the incident.

The crash occurred on lap six as Sexton navigated a turn at speed. He attempted to regain control but ultimately lost traction and crashed into an infield berm, suffering an injury that left him unable to compete in Moto 2 or any other events for now.

Sexton is currently ranked second overall in points standings behind Cooper Webb after two rounds of racing this season. The next event is scheduled for April 27-28 at Hangtown MX Park in Rancho Cordova, California.
