The incident took place outside Bru Burger Bar & Brewery in Carmel, Indiana, around midnight on May 23. Officers responded to reports of two individuals bleeding from stab wounds after the local NBA team had just defeated the Knicks at Madison Square Garden earlier that evening.

  • Funke was initially removed from the bar for being intoxicated and disorderly.
  • He returned to confront the two men, leading to an altercation.
  • One man sustained a wound behind his ear, while the other suffered a laceration on his leg.
