Josh Berry Wins Battle of Broadway 150 at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Josh Berry won the Battle of Broadway 150 at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway on Saturday night, marking his second win in the JEGS/CRA All-Star Tour series and his first since his victory at Salem Speedway in April.

Berry led for 93 laps and secured the checkered flag by a significant margin, finishing 15 car lengths ahead of Trey Craig, who placed second. Hunter Wright from Lebanon rounded out the top three finishers.

Berry’s Reflections on Momentum

Berry expressed his thoughts on momentum following the win:

“Momentum’s a real thing. So it could carry over to next weekend.”

The victory is expected to shift attention away from Berry’s recent performance in Cup racing. As he put it:

“I’m sure my (Cup) race team on Saturday will be asking me about this win instead of why I got my (expletive) kicked.”

Respect for Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway

Berry also spoke about the respect that drivers have for Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway:

“A lot of guys in the Cup garage and industry as a whole have a respect for this place… anytime you can step down and run these races and win it’s a big deal.”

Reflecting on his return to compete at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, Berry said:

“It feels really cool to get back here because when I started racing legends cars here all those years ago we’d load up our car, go up into the stands, watch Willie Allen, Joe Buford & other drivers run races here. That’s why I wanted to come back & compete/race on five-eighth mile like I did last year, but also obviously you wanna try/want to win too, so that checked the box for me & felt very special.”

Thoughts on Trey Craig’s Performance

When discussing Trey Craig’s strong start, Berry noted:

“I didn’t know how fast he would take off but honestly he took off pretty quick… he stretched out just enough where if we were gonna pass him we needed something crazy to happen or make some mistakes or both.”
