Purdue Women's Basketball Welcomes Saige Stahl

Purdue women’s basketball has added another talented player to its roster with the signing of Saige Stahl, a standout from Indiana. The 2023 Indiana All-Star and Indiana State transfer brings significant experience and skill to the Boilermakers.

High School Career

Stahl’s high school career was marked by impressive numbers, particularly in her final season at Columbus East:

  • Points per game: 26.0
  • Rebounds per game: 9.9

These statistics showcase her ability to dominate on both ends of the court.

College Experience

Stahl began her collegiate experience at Indiana State, where she played two seasons for head coach Teri Moren’s squad. During her time with the Sycamores:

  • Freshman Year: Averaged just under 2 points and nearly 3 rebounds in about 8 minutes of action off the bench.
  • Sophomore Year:
    • Started 4 games
    • Averaged 7 points and 7 rebounds per game
    • Shot 39.6% from beyond the three-point range on approximately 6 attempts per outing

Transfer Impact

The addition of Stahl brings the total number of transfers committed to play their remaining eligibility with the Boilermakers to six:

  • Kiki Smith (Arkansas)
  • Nya Smith (UNC Greensboro)
  • Taylor Feldman (Northern Arizona)
  • Taylor Henderson (UNC Wilmington)
  • Tara Daye (St. Johns)

According to NCAA rules regarding immediate eligibility following a transfer into Division I programs prior to earning an undergraduate degree, former Arkansas guard Kiki Smith will be eligible immediately, while all others must sit out next fall.

Looking Ahead

With this new addition, Purdue women’s basketball is looking stronger than ever. The team is expected to make some noise this upcoming season with such talented players joining their roster.
