A 34-year-old woman has died after falling in the backcountry near Lake Louise. The incident occurred on Tuesday at 7 a.m., as reported by the Lake Louise RCMP.
Details of the Incident
- Parks Canada was alerted to the fall and immediately notified authorities.
- The skier was extracted from her location by long line via Alpine Helicopters.
- Emergency responders from STARS attended the scene but were unable to save the skier’s life.
- The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation
The cause of death is not yet known, and an investigation is ongoing, according to the RCMP.
