Trigg Kiser's Family Seeks Protection from Public Release of Information

PHOENIX — A TikTok star and mother of two, Emilie Kiser, is suing Maricopa County public offices to keep information about her late son’s death private. Emilie, who has over 1.5 million followers on the platform, filed the lawsuit on Tuesday, claiming that releasing details about Trigg Kiser’s death would be a "profound invasion of privacy" for her and her family.

Background

Trigg passed away nearly two weeks ago after being rescued from his family’s backyard pool. According to authorities, it appears that Trigg died accidentally. The Chandler Police Department responded to a drowning call at the family home on May 12 and found him unconscious in the pool. They attempted CPR along with firefighters before taking him to the hospital. Trigg later succumbed to his injuries on May 17.

Emilie’s Response

Following her son’s passing, Emilie took time off social media but returned earlier this month with several posts reflecting on her life as a mother of two before Trigg’s untimely death.

Social Media Posts

  • Emilie shared photos of herself holding both children while smiling in front of their home, with balloons reading "Happy Birthday Mommy."
  • Another photo shows the family hugging together in matching outfits, all smiling brightly.
  • She also posted pictures from her pregnancies and milestones from each child’s first year, such as:
    • Getting teeth
    • Learning to walk
    • Saying words for the first time
  • Videos showcased fun moments, including playing games and swimming.

In one heartfelt post, she wrote: “I love you more than words can express,” alongside an image of the three of them smiling together.

Legal Context

A spokesperson for the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office stated they have not yet received any requests regarding access to records related to Trigg’s case. Emilie is seeking protection under Arizona law, which allows parents whose minor children have died under certain circumstances—including homicide or suicide involving abuse or neglect by a responsible person—to keep such information private.
