Central Valley secured a win over Greensburg Salem in the WPIAL Class 4A playoffs, with Daniel McIntosh pitching a complete game. McIntosh allowed just two earned runs on six hits and struck out seven batters.
In another matchup, Ambridge’s Joe Leseikio threw a complete game shutout against Knoch, allowing only two hits and no walks while striking out six batters. Ambridge’s offense was well-supported by Adam Fernandez and Carter Mason, who both had multiple hits. Fernandez recorded three hits, while Mason contributed with a pair of base knocks.
The WPIAL Class 4A playoffs also saw Ringgold defeat Blackhawk 9-5 in the first round. Despite committing five errors on defense, Ringgold emerged victorious thanks to their strong offense.
Blackhawk’s Carter Davis started pitching but was forced to leave after four and a third innings due to injury. During his time on the mound, Davis allowed one earned run on one hit and three walks before being relieved by another player.
Ringgold took an early lead in the top of the first inning, scoring four runs off Blackhawk pitcher Tyler Smithers’ wild pitches. The team added five more runs in the top of the third inning to take an eight-run lead into halftime.
